A beautiful silk rose adorns the dress of Ana Maria Vargas in a rare photograph taken on her nineteenth birthday. My mother loved the colors and fragrance of her roses that flourished in her garden for centuries. On our visits back home, she would smile and bless us as she handed us a fresh bouquet. I am joyful and grateful to this beautiful woman, “El Dulce Milagro”, that lived her life for her children, her rose garden. She was able to enjoy this homage until she left us to the grandest garden of all on Christmas Day, 2005.
